Review :
Gene Nelson and Faith Domergue thwart deadly industrial espionage plot
I had an old and quite bad copy of this film running 77 minutes that I recently replaced with a gorgeous copy that runs 87 minutes. This one has an impeccable film noir look to it.
Gene Nelson is a reporter whose sharp curiosity brings him into a case of industrial espionage when a body is found in the Thames and the man recovers after apparently dying for 7-8 seconds. Faith Domergue is his beauteous photographer and love interest.
The sci-fi component of the story is quite minimal and not particularly well done. I rate the story a 5. I rate the cinematography and look of the film a 7. I rate the lively acting of Nelson and Domergue at least a 6.
It's worth a look for noir fans, but it's definitely not up to films like "Night of the Demon", the Quatermass films, or "These Are the Damned".
