Review :
Not as bad as you would think
Listen, I love MST3K and I love what they did to this movie, but I also love this movie. Not because it's bad, but because it's actually good.
The plot is very similar to THE WOLF MAN, if you think about it. A man tries to do a good deed and is punished for it in a bizarre way. The acting by Glenn Langan is not very bad, it is actually quite good. He reminds me of Jack Nicholson during his frantic rants. Cathy Downs is excellent as Glenn's fiancee. The effects are not too lame, sometimes he is transparent. But doesn't that give this movie charm? My favorite effect is when the giant throws down the giant hypodermic and impales a doctor! It's just something you wouldn't see in any other 1950s movie! And this is a special science-fiction movie that is compelling from start to finish, despite long talking intervals. These are actually quite interesting as well.
