Review :
A spirited and ingenious comedy that bobs merrily between romance and farce.
One of my favorite Duvivier movies, "Henriette" is impishly clever in both writing and direction. The spoofing of various movie conventions will delight fans. But it's not only the satire that pleases, "Henriette" emerges as a most charming piece as well.
Dany Robin makes an entrancing heroine, while glamorous Hildegarde Neff has a right royal time as the exotic Rita. In the role of an adroitly-invented thief, Michel Auclair is also a stand-out.
